The Horse Dealer's Daughter Analysis

After reading the horse dealers daughter i felt that baptism was the best literary aspect i could use from the professor sheet. In the story, Mable tries to kill herself by throwing herself into the pond to face a watery grave. Before she cast herself into the water she was depressed and lonely and she felt that all hope was gone because the wealth of the family was lost. A young doctor named Furgusson saves her from her watery death and then later tells her he loves her. They both fall in love and Mable is a completely different person because of it. The baptism aspect comes into play when Furgusson saves her from drowning. When she casts herself into the water shes still depressed and anguished, but when Furgusson saves her and they fall in love shes completely different and she has a greater purpose to live.
